Enif Alvarez Bravo is a Coach & Group Fitness Instructor at Fitness Playground Newtown. She shifted from the corporate world to personal training about four years ago, so as well as offering a wealth of knowledge in all things strength and performance, she gets how to fit training into your hectic lifestyle.

With a CrossFit background, she combines strength training and functional movement – while focusing on injury prevention – to help her clients get strong and fierce. No matter what stage you’re at in your gym journey.

She wants you to try different things, find what you really enjoy doing and look forward to working out – whether your aim is to squat with a barbell, improve your running speed, hit a deadlift PB, jump higher or do all of those things! She wants you to feel confident both in the gym and out.

training philosophy

I like to think my training philosophy revolves around toughness in a positive way (note to Greg Everett’s book “Tough”). In summary, it revolves around your Character, Capability, Capacity and Commitment. I like to help people define their goals based on these criteria. We’re all at different stages of our lives, emotionally and physically, so finding your individual approach is necessary to achieve your goals.

3 fun facts

  1. As a child, I was so clumsy that my nickname was Hurricane Enif (due to the wake of destruction I left behind).
  2. I have a staffy called Mayhem who has his own Instagram: @mayhem_antics
  3. After starting Crossfit at 41 years old (and no previous sporting background) I’ve qualified for the quarter finals twice! And getting better each year – bring on 2023!
