What does “Inspire Change” mean?

For our team, we hire Great Humans and enable them to pursue fulfilling, successful and impactful careers that make a difference in people’s lives.

Our origin story

Our business started as a small bootcamp in Surry Hills. We used to wake up at 5am, take our equipment down to the park, unpack the boot and set up for the morning’s sessions. It was basic. It was raw. It was humble. But our community members loved it.

After spending years working in big gyms that spent millions of dollars on equipment but not really on the member experience, it made me think; what really matters to members? Equipment? Facilities? Sure, but what matters most is the people. This focus on our people has driven us to have thousands of satisfied members and hundreds of happy, successful staff.

Our company values are to be #1 One Team, of #2 Great Humans, who #3 Get Better Every Day, so we can #4 Design the Future and, most importantly, #5 Do Cool Sh*t!

We think big, but stick to our roots to make sure our members are more than a number.

Before you start, here is my advice: try something different. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Say hello to our friendly team and other members. Most importantly, ask for help. That’s what we’re here for.

FP 1.0

In 2013, we had a vision to create a playground for you to train in, a Fitness Playground, that changed both the gym environment and experience.

FP 2.0

In 2020, we evolved. We had built incredible facilities that changed the environment and experience forever and created a brand and a mission that reflected that evolution.

FP 3.0

In 2021, the peak of the evolution was born: Marrickville’s Wellness Playground. We stepped beyond fitness and became all things health and wellness.

ONE PLAYGROUND

What started as a gym is now much more than that. We aren’t just fitness or wellness. We are One Playground and we exist to inspire change in our industry.

Brand Timeline

We had a vision to create a playground for your training, a Fitness Playground. The vision was to change the gym environment & experience.

2013

First gym opens in Surry Hills in June.

2014

Newtown & Marrickville locations open in May.

2015

First move interstate, with our Darwin club established in a prime location.

2017

Launch of The Bunker Gym – a new model. Named Men’s Health Gym of the Year Sydney and Darwin.

2018

In 2020, we evolved. We had built incredible facilities that had changed the environment and experience forever. And we created a brand and a mission that reflected that evolution.

2020

The peak of the evolution was born: Marrickville Wellness. We stepped beyond fitness, and became all things Wellness & Fitness.

2021

The past was a gym, but the future is more than that. Today we are One Playground with endless experiences.

We’re always looking for Personal Trainers to join our team. In the same way our Coaches support our members, our system equips you with the necessary skills and tools to succeed on your coaching journey.

Group Trainers

We pride ourselves on our class programming, quality of service and unique offerings. We empower our Group Trainers to pitch, create and deliver new programs, to create unparalleled class experiences.

Membership team

We are nothing without our on-ground staff. Our membership teams are responsible for being the in-club leaders, delivering an exceptional level of service and cultivating an environment that inspires change.

Management

As thought leaders in education, we spend time investing back into our people. Our management roles span across multiple areas of the One Playground business, including Marketing, Finance & Human Resources.
