What does “Inspire Change” mean?
For our members, it means creating unique environments and experiences that empower them to achieve real results with their memberships.
For our staff: We hire Great Humans, educate and enable them to become world-class specialists and pursue fulfilling, impactful careers that make a difference in people’s lives.
Our origin story
We started as a bootcamp named Fit Crew in 2011. We woke up at 5 a.m., unpacked our equipment from the back of a van and ran sessions in the park, rain, hail or shine. The community that started the movement was formed, and we began to assemble a team of Great Humans to open an indoor premises.
After spending years working in big gyms that spent millions of dollars on equipment but not really on the member experience, it made me think; what really matters to members? Equipment? Facilities? Not really. What really matters is people. This focus on our people has driven us to have thousands of satisfied members and hundreds of happy, successful staff.
Our company values are to be #1 One Team, of #2 Great Humans, who #3 Get Better Every Day, so we can #4 Design the Future and, most importantly, #5 Do Cool Sh*t!
We think big, but act small. To make sure our members are more than a number.
Before you start, here is my advice: try something different. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Say hello to our friendly team and other members. Most importantly, ask for help. That’s what we’re here for.

Our business started as a small bootcamp in Surry Hills. We used to wake up at 5am, take our equipment down to the park, unpack the boot and set up for the morning’s sessions. It was basic. It was raw. It was humble. But our community of members loved it.

In 2020, we evolved. We had built incredible facilities that had changed the environment and experience forever.

In 2021, the peak of the evolution was born: Marrickville Wellness. We stepped beyond fitness, and became all things Wellness & Fitness.

Personal trainers
We want to build technicians who understand the proper execution and reasoning behind their exercise selection and programming. But what we want most for you is to build a sustainable business with a consistent income.
Group fitness instructors
We pride ourselves on our class programming, quality of service and unique offerings. At One Playground, we empower our Group Fitness Instructors to pitch, create and deliver new programs, to create unparalleled class experiences.
Membership team
We are nothing without our on-ground staff. Our membership teams are responsible for being the leaders in their respective clubs, delivering an exceptional (and consistent) level of service, and cultivating an environment that inspires change.
Management
As thought leaders in education, we spend most of our time and resources on investing back into our people. Our management roles span across multiple areas of the One Playground business, including Coaching, Finance & Human Resources.
