FAQs
What is Indoor Cycling?
Indoor cycling, often referred to as a spin class, is a form of exercise focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high-intensity & recovery. It involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting for effective spin cycle workouts.
What is SpinCity like as an experience?
We are committed to providing an indoor cycling experience and environment like no other at SpinCity™. Dubbed the “best spin studio” by TechnoGym in 2018, our focus is on making your spin class journey exceptional. Everything from the music-powered LED lights and the large interactive display where you can track your milestones in our cycling classes, to the virtual sessions running 24 hours (when instructor-led classes aren’t on), was meticulously crafted to inspire your cycling workouts.
What is SpinCity like as an experience?
When you arrive at your Spin class, our instructors will be waiting to greet you. Their introduction will be focused on explaining the class format, how to use your stationed bike, and will ask if you are working with any injuries or restrictions. Class formats can be tailored to wherever you’re at in your fitness journey, no one is too new or too advanced. You’ll meet an array of instructors, all bringing a unique style to their Barre classes. We do ask that you please arrive five minutes early to your class so your instructor can start on time.
What do I bring to my Spin class?
We provide the bikes, the instructors and a one-of-a-kind studio. All that we ask is that you please bring a towel, water bottle (preferably not plastic as we’re not big on that) and your energy! We heavily enforce the towel policy (no towel, no play, no gym today).
What other facilities are available?
Along with the SpinCity™ studio, you’ll have full access to our gym facilities. These include our boutique bathrooms that are fitted out with showers, lockers, hair dryers, hair straighteners & botanical soaps.
Can I bring someone?
Of course! When we reach out to book you in, don’t be afraid to tell us who you’d like to bring along to your first Spin class.
Is Spin/Indoor Cycling suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Our spin classes are designed to be welcoming and effective for beginners. Our instructors provide guidance on bike setup and technique, and you control your own resistance and speed, allowing you to tailor the intensity of the workout to your current fitness level.
What are the main benefits of Spin/Indoor Cycling?
Spin cycle workouts offers numerous significant benefits, including burning a high number of calories, significantly improving cardiovascular health, increasing leg strength and muscular endurance, and providing a great stress release. Our spin classes offer a low-impact yet high-intensity cycling workout beneficial for overall fitness and well-being.
Is Spin/Indoor Cycling low-impact? What if I have joint issues?
Yes, indoor cycling is celebrated as a low-impact exercise, making it an excellent option if you have concerns about joint stress (knees, ankles, hips) compared to high-impact activities like running. The smooth, controlled motion of pedaling provides an intense cardio workout without excessive joint impact. Please inform your instructor of any specific concerns or injuries.
