Progressive System Levels

One Playground’s career pathway for personal trainers begins with a 3 month kickstarter program. The Elevated Coach Program is a full-time position designed to help you generate 6 months of business in 3. Along the way, you will build your skill set, your team and your business. From here, our coaches become sub-contractors and move through 4 levels with a corresponding increase in pay at each level and preparing you for leadership opportunities.

your first 12 weeks

Our goal is for you to thrive in your first 12 weeks and develop the foundations of a long career in coaching.

We provide you with the security of a full-time salary whilst building the skills, systems and processes required to be successful as a personal trainer.

Induction

3 day

Program kicks off with a 3-day Induction at our Head Office, offering coaches a chance to learn directly from the Head of Coaching, Head of Education, and the CEO!

Mentoring

24 sessions

Access up to 24 Mentoring Sessions throughout the program for essential information and accountability, ensuring your success.

Online

12 weeks

Flexible online learning to fit into your busy schedule, letting you build skills and your business simultaneously. Dive into Exercise Selection, Instruction, and Lifestyle Coaching in your first 12 weeks.

HOW DO I BECOME A PERSONAL TRAINER AT ONE PLAYGROUND?
It all starts with an application on this page – we’re always looking for Great Humans, no matter what stage in your career you’re at. If you secure a role with us, you’ll start your journey with our Elevated Coach Program as a full-time employee for the first three months, where you’ll receive comprehensive training and development. Following this, you’ll transition to a sub-contractor in our progressive system.
WHAT IS THE ELEVATED COACH PROGRAM AT ONE PLAYGROUND?

Our Elevated Coach Program is a foundational three-month full-time induction that equips you with essential skills and tools for success. It includes mentoring sessions, practical skills development, and a deep dive into exercise selection and lifestyle coaching.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF PERSONAL TRAINERS AT ONE PLAYGROUND?
Our trainers progress through four levels: Level 1 (Grow Stage), Level 2 (Maintain Stage), Level 3 (Senior Coach), and ultimately Level 4 (Master Coach), with each level offering increased hourly rates and a pathway to leadership.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PROGRESS THROUGH THE TRAINER LEVELS AT ONE PLAYGROUND?

The progression through levels typically occurs within 12-18 months, depending on the achievement of specific criteria such as session counts, client feedback, and professional development.

WHAT SUPPORT DOES ONE PLAYGROUND OFFER TO NEW TRAINERS?
We provide a robust support system including a Head Coach for business and coaching development, mentors for specialised development, and access to state-of-the-art tools like the Trainerize app for client management.
HOW DO I BECOME A PERSONAL TRAINER?
To become a personal trainer in Australia, you must first obtain a Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30315), which qualifies you to work as a gym instructor. Following this, a Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS40215) is required to become a fully qualified personal trainer. These certifications are available through our Academy. Additionally, obtaining a First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory. Once certified, registering with Fitness Australia or Physical Activity Australia can enhance your credibility. Continual professional development through workshops and courses is also important to stay current with industry standards and trends. At One Playground, we value trainers who are committed to ongoing learning and professional growth.
