My philosophy is to train hard and train smart. Training should be challenging, but you should also respect your recovery. I believe in training for perfomance, whether that’s for performance in sport, athletics or simply general wellbeing. Train to improve that goal and the results will come.

PT Client Reviews
“I enjoyed doing personal training with Ben throughout my return to sport journey post-ACL and meniscus surgery. Ben is extremely knowledgeable about the movement and strength required for team sports, and what is needed to get you back to the game safely after an injury. Working with him was a perfect step in between the initial intense physio sessions post-surgery and getting back on the soccer field.”
“I’ve been doing personal training with Ben for several years now. When I started I had no concept of strength training and had been told by doctors not to lift more than 14kg because of back disc issues I had been living with since I was 12. At the time my main goal was weight loss but I also was waking up every morning with bad back pain.
With Ben, he not only established a program that gradually built strength across my back, but also educated me on how other areas in my body needed to be strengthened to alleviate back pain. His knowledge of the body and ability to explain why we are doing certain things has helped me tremendously. Today I feel strong and stable in my joints – something I’ve never had before.
I’ve done a body weight deadlift and can do push-ups. I no longer wake up with back pain, and have glute strength that has helped me do hikes that I never thought I’d be able to do and play netball without fear of injury. I also consider Ben part of my mental health management team.
Exercise is really important for my treatment of anxiety and depression and Ben has helped by encouraging me to just get to the gym on those bad days. He is always perceptive and can recognise how to push someone who has mental health issues in the right way.”
“It was at a very low point in my life, both emotionally and physically, when I started training with Ben. My father was dying from brain cancer and I’d just had a really horrible break-up that had left me incredibly scarred. As a result, I’d ballooned from a fairly lean 90kg to 115 kg in half a year (almost all of which was fat).
Finally, I decided I needed help. What I like most about Ben is that his training is informed equally by experience, scientific research and his intrinsically empathetic nature. He has always understood my needs, never made me feel judged, and will always prioritise his clients.
More than once he has had to calmly reign me in when I’ve been too gung-ho and on the verge of hurting myself. As a result, I’ve been transformed from an unhappy couch potato who couldn’t do a single pull-up, to confidently surpassing goals that I would have previously considered impossible.”
